Eomni

Work Description Eomni is a poetic, emotionally-driven dance piece exploring maternal love against the backdrop of the Korean War. Drawing from Korean traditional dance, the piece portrays the resilience and pain of a mother protecting her child. It unfolds in four symbolic scenes with layered projections, rich lighting, and minimalist movement. The work is performed by five dancers and designed for mid-sized touring venues.
-Biography
Sim Hyunju is a choreographer based between Seoul and Berlin, and the founder of SimHyunju – Dance With Us. Her work merges Korean traditional movement with contemporary dance. She has presented works in Korea and Germany, supported by the Daegu Cultural Foundation, Overseas Koreans Foundation, and the Korean Office for Overseas Community Affairs. She is active internationally and collaborates across genres and cultures.
